Buildertrend is a strong product and most builders who leave it do so because of fit rather than quality. This page covers the realistic alternatives, what each is genuinely best at, and the one thing that makes this category hard to shop: almost nobody publishes a price.
As of August 2026, Buildertrend does not publish pricing. Its pricing page is a quote request flow, and its own FAQ answers "How much does Buildertrend cost?" by saying pricing is tailored to each business and recommending a call with their team. Procore is the same, with an annual fee quoted against your Annual Construction Volume.
This matters for anyone shopping. A large number of articles still list Buildertrend tier names and monthly prices, including Essential, Advanced, and Complete at specific figures. Those tiers are not on Buildertrend's pricing page today. If you are building a budget from numbers you found in a comparison article, verify them against a real quote before you rely on them.

The useful question is not which platform has the most features. Every product on this list will show you a feature grid that covers scheduling, budgets, documents, and client communication. The question is which single problem is costing you the most money right now.
Stay on Buildertrend. Selections, client management, and warranty tracking are what it is built around, and no alternative on this list does that better. Switching away from your strongest workflow to fix a weaker one is usually a bad trade.
You want depth in sequencing, trade coordination, and schedule-to-budget linkage. This is where BYLD is focused: construction-native Gantt with phases and trades, scheduling requests to subs, and change orders that carry schedule impact rather than just cost.
Look at JobTread and BYLD. JobTread is well regarded for estimating and job costing workflows. BYLD approaches it from plan reading: BYLDRbuddy generates quantity takeoffs directly from plan PDFs, which is a different bet on where estimating error comes from.
Houzz Pro is the only product on this list that meaningfully bundles demand generation with project management. If you need more jobs rather than better control of the jobs you have, that is a different purchase, and no amount of project management software solves it.
Contractor Foreman competes directly on price. BYLD charges a flat rate that does not rise with your build volume. Both are worth quoting against whatever Buildertrend comes back with.
Then it is not really a choice. Some builders run Procore on commercial jobs where an owner or general contractor requires it and a lighter tool on their residential work, rather than forcing one platform across both.
That last one separates products faster than any feature list. Ask them to run it live.
